Veneers are thin sheaths of dental-grade porcelain that are attached to the front facing surfaces of teeth effectively concealing any number of smile flaws instantly. We use a high quality porcelain that is shaded to perfectly blend into patients’ smiles, and crafted by skilled experts to offer long lasting, durable results. The procedure itself is so comfortable many patients find they don’t need any anesthetic, and the entire treatment time over the course of two visits is just a few hours. At the end of this treatment, patients have flawless smiles.
Who Should Consider Veneers?
There is no one right service for every patient. The best way to make a decision is to visit our office. Our skilled cosmetic dentists will review all of your options, and help you find the treatment that meets your needs. Some situations where we would advise veneers include:
- Smile resets – patients with numerous small cosmetic flaws may wish to conceal all of these irregularities at once with veneers rather than undergoing numerous procedures to correct each problem
- Instant orthodontics – adult patients who have crooked or unevenly spaced teeth may not want to commit the time and effort to orthodontic treatment, and if their bite misalignment won’t cause undo smile damage, veneers may be the better option
- Deep-set stains – patients with stains caused by tetracycline, fluorosis, or aging may not be able to achieve their desired smile brightening results with traditional teeth whitening, and should consider concealing these deep-set stains with veneers
The Veneer Process
Patients who choose porcelain veneers should plan to visit our office at least two times. During an initial visit, we remove a small amount of surface enamel from teeth. This allows the veneer to lay flat within the natural smile line. Patients with sensitive teeth or gums may need a mild, local anesthetic to numb the treatment area, but many patients find they don’t need any anesthetic at all. Next, we take impressions of the prepared teeth that are used by our trusted dental lab to craft a custom porcelain veneer. In the meantime, the dentist places temporary veneers to protect the prepared teeth. Once we receive the final restoration, patients return to exchange their temporary for a permanent porcelain veneer. This final step is completely painless, and patients leave our office with picture-perfect smile of their dreams.
